Our approach
In 2022, we supported the agri-food sector, severely affected by avian flu in Pays de la Loire and Brittany.
In collaboration with SANDERS, we developed a biosafety station prototype designed to clean and then disinfect transport vehicles, identified as major vectors for virus spread.
The implementation and use of this prototype, directly at the factory and subjected to real field conditions, allowed us to benefit from solid feedback and improve the design to adapt to users’ actual needs.
With the sector and accompanied by a specialized laboratory, we participated in a testing campaign lasting over 3 years, nearly 750 tests in the laboratory and more than double in real conditions, targeting both bacteriological study during the washing process and material reaction to disinfection products. This allowed us to establish a clear and functional protocol aimed at effectively disinfecting feed or animal transport vehicles.
The finding is clear: disinfection depends on proper washing with compliance to dwell times per axle.
Initial results on current practices:
Manual spraying

All this research and these meetings have enabled us to better understand the need to wash, particularly the inside of the mudguards and undercarriage, sources of microbial contamination (bacterial and viral). This is why we embarked on creating a suitable product.

Who are we?
N&D Biosafety, a brand of Servi Loire, develops biosafety stations specially designed to disinfect truck wheels, fenders, and undercarriages when entering or leaving agri-food and slaughter facilities.
These biosafety stations represent a critical solution to address health issues by effectively eliminating viruses and bacteria present on vehicles, such as avian flu viruses, swine flu, and salmonella.
